APRS TRACKING DEVICES

A key component to high altitude testing is having an Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) tracker, which allows extraction of important data, including temperature, pressure, humidity, and altitude. The Tracksoar is one of the smallest, lightest, and efficient open source APRS trackers available, allowing for various customization methods. We are currently building a custom Tracksoar for multiple planned high altitude launches as it will allow us to optimize the payload recovery system.

HIGH ALTITUDE LED LAUNCH

One of our past projects was to launch an enormously powerful LED to 80,000 feet as a first test. Our current project involves ensuring payload recovery, as we will be collaborating with the Experimental Cosmology Group’s Wafer Scale Spacecraft Development (WSSD) project to extract data on wafer performances in near-space conditions. This is done in collaboration with the US Naval Academy.
